More than Just Tanks
Storage or process tanks seldom stand alone and are generally part of a more complex operation.  In most cases the tanks are linked by extensive piping and a series of pumps, valves and sensors.  Flow between the various locations is monitored and controlled to ensure proper performance and safety.

Whatever their function, tanks are just a part of the larger facility.  Any specific tank may play an important but minor role in an otherwise complicated bigger picture. More than Just Silos
It's a similar story with silos for dry bulk materials - grain, cement, fertilizers or similar products.  The silos are part of a larger storage, processing and handling system.

Products are often transferred to and from the silos by augers or conveyors.  They may be combined in a mixing operation.  Any dust created is extracted by dust collectors.  Flows of product in and out is monitored and controlled, heated or cooled, pressurized or vented.

Sometimes your maintenance team needs to access the tanks via access manways, interior or exterior ladders and stairways with guard rails. UIG provides you all of these and more.

Special Tanks Mean Special Designs and Special Accessories


Fuel tanks - for aviation fuel, diesel fuel, gasoline and other similar flammable materials - require special accessories such as explosion proof vents, unique coatings and so on. Special valves, pumps and filters may be called for and a foam-free fire protection system is often required. Furthermore, a fuel dispensing system and a monitoring SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) may be a standard part of your facility. These tanks need to be designed to American Petroleum Institute (API) or other international specifications.
