Fiberglass Tanks and other plastic tanks at affordable prices in USA and Worldwide.
United Industries Group, Inc. (UIG) manufactures a variety of
fiberglass tanks using the highest quality
corrosion-resistant reinforced
plastic (FRP Tank) materials. Products include process vessels,
chemical storage tanks, foul air ducting, piping and more.
We will design and fabricate tanks to your specifications in accordance with ASTM or other world industrial standards using the highest performance, high temperature epoxy vinyl ester resins.
Common applications include acids, alkali, bleaches, brines, chlorides, solvents, oxidizers and more. Contact us to learn how UIG's FRP tanks may best suit your specific application.
CUSTOM FABRICATION
Shop manufacture of FRP tanks is possible up to about fourteen feet (~four meters) diameter using either a filament winding or spray-up process. The thermoset resins used in both filament wound and spray-up fabrication commonly include polyesters, vinyl esters and isophthalics.
Filament winding consists winding resin-impregnated glass fibers in predetermined patterns. After the laminate layers are wound-on, the tank shell is allowed to cure at room temperature before secondary bonding operations begin.
Spray-up is an open molding fabrication method used to make FRP tank bottoms and dished tops and parts that have large surface area. Chopped fiberglass reinforcements and catalyzed resin are deposited onto a mold surface. Rollers or squeegees are used to remove entrapped air and work the resin into the reinforcements. Woven fabric is added to give the laminate greater strength.
These shop fabricated fiberglass tanks can be shipped throughout the USA and worldwide.
LARGER DIAMETER TANKS
Fiberglass Tanks larger than 14 feet (~4 meters) diameter are generally not economical to ship.
UIG large diameter FRP tanks are shop fabricated in segments and shipped to your site. At the factory the segments are carefully marked to assure proper field fit. The tank shell is shaped and the bottom and dished top are segmented for shipping. At the site, UIG's field technicians install the tank, assemble and attach the bottom and head and install all fittings, manways and internals.
Large diameter, field installed fiberglass tanks are made using the same materials and fabrication methods as standard shop-fabricated tanks. The tank shell may be either chop/hoop wound or contact molded. The bottom, dished head and all joints and secondary bonding are contact molded.
Since the cost per unit of volume stored usually decreases with larger vessel sizes, it may be that one large diameter, field installed tank will be more economical than multiple smaller, shop fabricated tanks to store the same volume.
Let UIG show you how to save costs in FRP tank selection.
